Restaurant chefs can’t live — or run their kitchens — without their gadgets. Much like the perfectly sharpened chef’s knife, the right blender or rice cooker can be a vital tool that helps shape the menu. 

We interviewed chefs across the country about their favorite must-have kitchen equipment for their restaurants.

Most raved about gizmos that multitasked with versatile functions that served as all-in-one “Swiss Army knives” of culinary equipment. Others mentioned devices with more specific purposes, like blow torches and dehydrators.
