Currently, guava is primarily popping up in beverages. Just this month, casual-dining chain Native Grill & Wings added a Spicy Guava Rita to its menu, made with Espolòn Blanco tequila, guava, and jalapeño pepper in a glass with a Tajín rim, which it sells for about $12. KFC’s new Saucy concept has a Passionfruit + Orange + Guava Refresher, created to complement chicken tenders and sauces.

Guava is also benefitting from rising consumer interest in Latin American and Southeast Asian cuisines.

According to market research firm Datassential, 76% of the U.S. population are familiar with guava, and 48% have tried it.
