Oklahoma-based health-focused brand to offer salad, wrap options in smart-fridge Coolgreens Markets
Fast-casual Coolgreens is testing a grab-and-go refrigerator platform called Coolgreens Market, which it plans to offer as a franchise option in 2020.
The Oklahoma City-based brand, which has nine brick-and-mortar units in Oklahoma and Texas, will use smart fridge technology. Customers will swipe credit cards and then make their selections.
“We’re always looking for additional opportunities to serve our guests, and Coolgreens Market allows us to reach them in new ways,” said Robert Lee, Coolgreens CEO, in a statement.
The Market fridges are being stocked from a local commissary kitchen, the company said.
“Everyone is super busy and often it’s tough to get healthy food on-the-go,” Lee said. “Coolgreens Market solves that challenge and enables us to offer a selection of the quality menu items that are sold in our restaurants, in a convenient, affordable way. It’s literally ready whenever you are.”
Coolgreens is testing the new Market fridges in Dallas. The company plans to offer them for office buildings, medical and corporate campuses, airports, rail stations, college and university campuses along with retail mixed-use developments.
Coolgreens recently announced it would be rolling out new tamper-proof packaging to be used in third-party delivery.
Coolgreens, founded in 2009, has its nine units in Oklahoma City, Tulsa and the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
