Thanksgiving, celebrated this year on Nov. 23, centers around family and friends coming together to appreciate what they have over a full holiday spread. Restaurants are playing a big role in this tradition: National Restaurant Association research shows that nearly one in 10 adults plans to eat a Thanksgiving meal at a restaurant this year. And of those spending the holiday at home, more than one in 10 said they plan to pick up components of their meal from a restaurant. Operators can capitalize on this potential surge in business by giving customers what they want: prix-fixe meals, buffets, traditional or more creative Thanksgiving menu items, take-home catering and holiday-themed desserts.
