The restaurant world in the U.S. has more than its fair share of celebrities. There are chefs and restaurant operators who have become household names — whether by talent or media savvy, or a little of both.

And then there are those rock stars flying somewhat under the radar, those innovators who might be well known in one market but who are poised to enter the culinary-scene limelight on a bigger stage.

These are leaders who are on the rise.
