RED, WHITE & CRUE: Hard Rock c.e.o. Hamish Dodds (c.) and the boys in the band.

WRIT LARGE: Tom Farley (c.) heads the Chris Farley Foundation.

A splashy event put on by Hard Rock International in September combined an Internet auction, a live performance by a legendary rock band and the celebration of the casual dining's chain 35th anniversary to raise funds for a worthy cause. The take: more than $25,000. The recipient: the Chris Farley Foundation.

Operated by the family of the late Saturday Night Live comedian, this organization is dedicated to the prevention of substance abuse among kids, teens and young adults.

The top money-raiser at the auction was a custommade Hard Rock Ambassadors of Rock Gibson guitar, autographed by all four members of Motley Crue (Nikki Sixx, Vince Neil, Mike Mars and Tommy Lee). Tickets to hear the group play later at Hard Rock went for $1,000 a pair.
