Cameron Mitchell Restaurants last week announced the addition of new concept Valentina’s to its portfolio. Valentina’s is set to open in Dublin, Ohio in the spring of 2022.

The Columbus, Ohio-based restaurant group’s latest concept was inspired by a fifth-generation Italian family winery employees visited during the restaurant group’s 25th anniversary celebration in 2018.

The senior leadership team of Cameron Mitchell Restaurants was served a 1993 Barolo from the private collection of the Abbona family, owners of Marchesi di Barolo Winery. It was this wine that inspired the team to partner with the Abbonas to open Valentina’s three years later.

“We want guests coming to Bridge Park [in Dublin] to be transported to Northern Italy and experience all the tastes, sounds and smells that it brings,” said David Miller, president and COO of Cameron Mitchell Restaurants, in a statement. “The story behind Valentina’s is one that our entire leadership team holds close to our hearts. Our visit to the Piedmont Region of Italy was incredible thanks to our wonderful hosts, so we are proud to honor their family through this new concept.”

The restaurant is named for the Marchesi di Barolo Winery’s family: daughter Valentina Abbona  is a winemaker and current owner.

While details have not yet been disclosed regarding the menu, the space is set to be a 6,200-square-feet with a large patio and feature Northern Italian cuisine with an extensive wine list. The patio will overlook a new pedestrian bridge in the Dublin, Ohio, development Bridge Park.

“Cap City Fine Diner, The Avenue Steak Tavern and The Pearl have been incredibly successful at Bridge Park,” said Brent Crawford, principal and co-founder of Crawford Hoying, developer of Bridge Park. “The exceptional service provided by the CMR team combined with the vibrancy of downtown Dublin creates an experience that keeps the community coming back for more. We’re looking forward to Valentina’s offering another great option for visitors, residents and office users to enjoy.”

Cameron Mitchell Restaurants operates several restaurants including Cameron’s American Bistro, Marcella’s, Ocean Prime, The Guild House and more. The restaurant group is opening three more restaurants in 2021: El Segundo Mexican Kitchen, Del Mar Naples and Prime Social Rooftop along with a Kansas City, Mo. location of Ocean Prime in 2022.
