Video of the week: Yelp to expand restaurant health score program nationwide

The crowd-sourced review site plans to pull data directly from government websites

Yelp will be expanding a health score program nationally with the help of HDScores, a third-party company that scrapes government websites for health inspection reports, according to the Washington Post. The health inspection score for a given restaurant will be featured on its page on the user-generated review site.

The move is an extension of Yelp's Local Inspector Value-Entry Specification, or LIVES, program, which launched in San Francisco in 2013.
