Melissa Lord is a teacher, a very good one, a brilliant link in the training chain of foodservice. If there are standards to be set for the future of foodservice, Lord, with her passion for teaching and training, her solid knowledge of food and the business of its preparation, is helping to set them at the New York Restaurant School by teaching students foodservice basics and how to love them. Lord is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America where she no only excelled as a student, but, apparently, learned how to teach as well. Before joining NYRS, Lord was sous chef and chef at several New York restaurants.
