Chanticleer Holdings Inc., a multiunit operator whose portfolio includes Hooters and Little Big Burger, has named Fred Glick its new president.

Glick comes to the Charlotte, N.C.-based company from San Diego, Calif.-based Karl Strauss Brewing Company where he served as the vice president of brewery restaurants. He will oversee Chanticleer’s mixed portfolio of limited-service and full-service restaurant brands including Hooters, American Burger Company, BGR – Burgers Grilled and Right, Little Big Burger and Just Fresh.

Previously, Mike Pruitt held the dual title of CEO and president of Chanticleer. Glick took over as president this month. At Chanticleer, Glick’s career comes full circle as he spent 15 years as president and COO of Hootwinc LLC, a Hooters franchisee in Southern California.

Chanticleer said Glick brings a proven track record of “achieving consistently positive sales and profit growth over many consecutive years through corporate culture management and driving employee engagement.”

Glick said he’ll be focused on growing Chanticleer’s fast-casual, better burger brands.

“Having spent considerable time reviewing their better burger brands including Little Big Burger and Burgers Grilled Right, I think we have a uniquely strong foundation from which to accelerate future growth,” he said in a statement. “I look forward to immediately rolling up my sleeves and getting to work helping to oversee our continued expansion, while most importantly enhancing our immediate and long-term profitability objectives.”

In 2017, Chanticleer reported revenue of $41.4 million.

The company’s portfolio includes 23 Burgers Grilled Right, eight American Burgers, five Just Fresh units and eight Hooters. The company said it expects to have between 22 and 24 Little Big Burgers open by the end of the year.

Chanticleer also has a minority investment in Hooters of America.
