In the last decade or so, Chicago — one of the best food cities in the U.S. and the unofficial capital of the Midwest — has seen a food renaissance. Chefs especially have been leaving their mark on the food scene, both with traditional menu items and innovative takes on classics. NRN editors are here to bring you on a tour of their restaurants.

The first stop is Little Goat Diner from chef Stephanie Izard, a comfort food diner with innovative takes on classics.

Next, editor-in-chief Sam Oches takes you to Beatrix, the Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises restaurant located in the heart of the city. The all-day spot offers a laid-back fare based around the chain’s famous Lemon Ricotta Pancakes.

Finally, Oches brings you to Protein Bar & Kitchen, the healthful restaurant chain throughout Chicago offering snacks and meals with protein and boosters to fuel you after a workout or just during an average day.

Join the NRN team as they conquer the city of Chicago and stay tuned for more videos from the editors.
