COVID vaccines appear to be on their way, and governments at every level are discussing the logistics and prioritization of distribution. Restaurant workers have been deemed “essential” throughout most of the pandemic, but will that still apply when it comes to vaccines? On this week’s episode of Working Lunch, the team from Align Public Strategies discusses the dynamics around this important issue.

In numerous states around the country, the restaurant industry is saying, “we’ll see you in court!” Some state restaurant associations are suing governors and states in an effort to push back on reclosing restrictions. The team discusses whether that’s a good idea in the short term as well as in the long term.

Then, longtime friend of the podcast Matt Haller, senior vice president of government relations and public affairs at the International Franchise Association, joins to talk about the IFA’s ongoing litigation in California, as well as their legislative agenda for 2021. The team discusses those issues and the podcast wraps up with the weekly legislative scorecard.
