The hospitality group has more openings planned for South Florida and beyond, including Houston, Dallas, Nashville, Tenn., and Kansas City, Mo.

When hospitality group Noble 33 spun out of the Madera Group in 2021, its mission was to grow existing concepts Toca Madera and Casa Madera while also opening new concepts across the globe. The company has done exactly that, and today it operates its brand of restaurants in Los Angeles, New York, Las Vegas, London, Scottsdale, Ariz., Toronto and now Miami, with the Oct. 1 opening of Sparrow Italia, an outpost of the London original.
Located in Miami’s restaurant-heavy Wynwood neighborhood, Sparrow Italia seats 232 guests across the 8,700-square-foot venue. A stone top bar is joined by arched booths and tables, with an arrangement of colored ropes and suspended wood arches in the sunken dining room. Green trees, blue velvet fabrics, textured Venetian plaster, wood and brass detailing, and candlelight round out the space.

Noble 33 cofounders Tosh Berman and Mikey Tanha said they’ve always had their sights set on Miami, which has evolved to become a global dining destination over the years.
“When we were presented with the opportunity to introduce our signature concepts to the vibrant neighborhood of Wynwood, the time finally felt right to enter the market,” said Berman, who added that Noble 33 focuses on providing guests with a holistic experience. “From the restaurant’s music to its design and lighting, we take a lot of care into creating a balanced and high-energy dining experience.”
Corporate executive chef Martin Heierling’s menu takes its inspiration from Italian and Mediterranean cuisine. Cold starters include wagyu carpaccio, oysters, ahi tuna tartare and caviar served with minced onions, chopped eggs, crème fraiche, and polenta pancakes. Hot starters range from a big, shareable meatball to arancini and grilled octopus.

The menu moves into salads, housemade pastas, steaks, and seafood. Pastas include the truffle cacio e pepe tagliatelle, bone marrow cappelletti, and lobster linguini, while prime steaks range in size from six ounces to 34 ounces and are sourced from places from South Dakota to Australia.
The bar features a pizza-by-the-slice menu and drinks curated by Noble 33 beverage director Juan Carlos Santana. The menu highlights Italian wines, spirits, and cocktails, including spritzes and Negroni variations. The wine list features bottles from regions like Alto Adige and Sicily and favors growers who utilize responsible farming practices. Based on the London restaurant’s success and the early response to the Miami location, the world might soon get more Sparrow Italias.
“We always have our eyes and ears open, if the right opportunities arise, to expand Noble 33’s portfolio into new and exciting destinations,” said Berman, noting that the company is actively evaluating the possibility of introducing Sparrow Italia into additional cities.

When considering expansion and new concepts, Noble 33 takes opportunities on a case-by-case basis, cofounder Tanha said. “There are some existing markets that we will be expanding further, while there are also new markets that we are targeting. Our strategy takes into account variables such as market potential, market saturation, our familiarity with the market and its demographics, along with our team’s desirability to spend time in certain markets.”
For now, the group is working to open its coastal Mexican restaurant, Casa Madera — which currently has locations in West Hollywood, Calif., and Toronto — in Wynwood this winter. The rooftop venue will span two floors, and Tanha said it will be one of the largest hospitality rooftop venues in Miami.

Next year, the group is bringing two additional concepts to South Florida with the openings of their modern Mexican steakhouse, Toca Madera, and Mēdüzā Mediterrania, a concept that channels the Mediterranean coast.
Beyond Miami, Noble 33 will expand across the U.S. over the next couple years with additional openings slated for Houston, Dallas, Nashville, Tenn., Los Angeles, and Kansas City, Mo. The latter is a modern American steakhouse called 1587 Prime that’s slated to open in 2025 in partnership with Kansas City Chiefs’ star players Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.
