Four-time James Beard Award winner Chef Michael Solomonov’s first culinary job was at a bakery just outside Tel Aviv and it’s that energy and community that he’s trying to recreate with CookNSolo’s newest addition to its Philadelphia portfolio: K’Far.

Meaning “village” in Hebrew, K’Far opened in late July. Solomonov’s attempt to recreate this formative time in his life shows in the warm environment and impeccable pastries prepared and served in traditional Israeli style in an updated and cleanly designed café setting.

CookNSolo, founded by Solomonov and his partner Steven Cook, has several James Beard Award winning chefs at the helms of their restaurants and behind their executive team. Their current restaurants include the upscale Israeli concept Zahav, as well as Abe Fisher, Federal Donuts, Dizengoff, and Goldie.

Take a peek inside CookNSolo’s latest concept in Philadelphia.
