If you’re looking for brunch beverage ideas, consider the staying power of drinks like milk punch. Since Colonial times, this cocktail with comfort food undertones has been a luxurious specialty. At Brennan’s of Houston, Brandy Milk Punch is a popular brunch drink. Traditionally made with bourbon, the punch is made with whole milk, vanilla extract and simple syrup.

Head bartender John Richard Thomas Jackson at Providence in Los Angeles puts a contemporary spin on this classic with his Clouds Over California cocktail. His version combines soymilk with potato vodka, white rum, persimmon syrup and Velvet Falernum liqueur.
