Legendary owner-operator Ralph Brennan picked up the NRAEF’s highest honor, the Thad and Alice Eure Ambassador of Hospitality Award, at the most recent NRA Show.

If you know any “valued individuals who go the extra mile both personally and professionally to serve and bring public focus to restaurants and foodservice through their works,” the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation wants to hear about it. The foundation is now accepting nominations for its prestigious 2012 College of Diplomats, Michael E. Hurst Lifetime Achievement in Education Award and Thad and Alice Eure Ambassador of Hospitality Award.

Candidates for each of these honors must demonstrate an outstanding commitment to education and excellence within the foodservice industry. Specific requirements for each award include:

• College of Diplomats—this a select group of professionals exemplify the philanthropic spirit of the industry in support of the educational foundation’s mission. Up to three people can be inducted into the college each year; each must be a role model for businesses in their communities.

• Michael E. Hurst Lifetime Achievement in Education Award—given to an outstanding educator who has made an indelible contribution to foodservice education, this award honors an eligible current or retired postsecondary and/or graduate professor or administrator.

• Thad and Alice Eure Ambassador of Hospitality Award—the NRAEF’s highest distinction, this award recognizes an individual who has shown extraordinary achievement and exemplary leadership in bringing public focus to the hospitality industry through philanthropy and community service. Ralph Brennan was the latest recipient of this award.

Nominations will be accepted through the end of August. Forms are available at www.nraef.org/awards. Refer questions to Jennifer Swain ([email protected], 312-715-6751). Awards will be presented at the 2012 National Restaurant Association Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show next May.
