Cleveland’s West Side Market, which is home to more than 100 culturally diverse produce, meat and specialty foods vendors, recently celebrated its centennial anniversary with a gala that attracted several hundred revelers and some of the country’s top chefs. The celebration took place throughout the public market, a magnificent old-world structure that’s listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Co-chairing the event were Cleveland chefs Michael Symon of Lola and Jonathon Sawyer of The Greenhouse Tavern. Among those preparing specialties for the event were April Bloomfield (The Spotted Pig, N.Y.C.), Carla Hall (The Chew), Paul Kahan (The Publican, Chicago), Jonathan Waxman (Barbuto, N.Y.C.), Jeff Benjamin (alla Spina, Philadelphia), Jenn Louis (Lincoln Restaurant, Portland, OR) and Erin O’Shea (Percy Street Barbecue, Philadelphia).
