Give ’Em Something to Talk About

Are you looking for a crazy promotion that your competitors haven’t thought of and would attract a ton of attention? Well, then consider what the tourism board of Serbia has cooked up—a testicle cooking competition. “We are now hoping that the many famous and varied testicle dishes that we have created in the region will become famous and attract people who appreciate good food from all over the world,” says Ivo Mokovich, organizer of The Testicle World Championships.

We know what you’re thinking: You’d have to be nuts to do something like this. But Mokovich points out that many people go to Scotland because of its scotch whisky and people go to Switzerland because of it’s chocolate. Why wouldn’t adventurous eaters head to Serbia for its specialty?

And why wouldn’t you consider a similar promotion? Did you know that there are aphrodisiac qualities in dishes made from the testicles of animals such as donkeys, wild boars, bulls, goats and ostrich? Neither did we, but it sure gives you something to talking about in your marketing campaign. All kidding aside, a promotion this over the top will attract lots of media attention, even if you put one such dish on your menu. Not many people will likely order it, but as the song says, you gotta’ give ’em something to talk about.
