Who is responsible for the revenue lost when customers skip out on the bill?
At TGI Friday's the server is not charged because we can not do that due to laws. As a manager I am required to write the server up. The second time it happens, I must terminate the employee, no matter what the circumstances were for either walkout. If, as a manager, I do not follow this unwritten policy, then I will be written up and terminated.
Not a good policy for employee morale in a place that is always supposed to be about fun. In my experience, most walkouts are far beyond the control of anything that the server could have possibly done.
