Restaurants can also look at getting apps for iPhone and Android. Push notifications and vouchers means they can reach out to their loyal customers and offer discounts to people that will likely come back not just bargain hunters.

Great article. We have found through our research that over 30% of main website traffic for restaurants is coming from a mobile device or tablets. Menus are the second most visited pages on a restaurant mobi website. Having a click-to-call phone number and address are important too. A very small percentage of indy restaurants in the U.S. have a mobi website, most of the chains do.

Best tip of all , however, is to hire a professional to set up your mobile site and initial marketing program. After that only intermittent tweaks are needed from a Pro standpoint.

Mobile marketing and loyalty programs are the least expensive way to gain new business and keep customers loyal. In 2013 more people will access the internet on a mobile phone than computer so mobilization is a must !
