Inspiration: The cocktail is named for the town of Ponchatoula, LA, which calls itself the Strawberry Capital of the World.

Key Ingredients: Oryza Gin, light crème de cacao, Solerno Blood Orange liqueur, simple syrup, Fee Brothers Rhubarb Bitters, sliced strawberries, thyme

Inspiration: The locally sourced strawberries of Ponchatoula.

What Others Are Saying: The cocktail was ranked by Zagat as one of the “Ten Best Things We Drank at Tales of the Cocktail.”

What the Judges Said: “We’re generally not attracted to cutie-pie drinks, but the use of bitters, thyme, blood orange and gin, with all of its botanicals, kept this cocktail well out of that category. Instead, this pretty fooler offers a delightfully fresh zing of complex strawberry goodness.”
